Water in Different Countries

Ethiopia:

Drip, drop, drip, drop
Will this drought ever stop?
Each evening we pray for rain
In the morning, it’s sunny again

Scotland:

Drip, drop, drip, drop
Will this drought ever stop?
It’s been raining for more than a week
Yet sunny weather is what we seek

Ethiopia:

Splish, splosh, splish, splosh
Five long miles to have a wash
The river may be dirty but we cannot care
Water isn’t everywhere

Scotland:

Splish, splosh, splish, splosh
Everyday we freely wash
Fifty litres? One hundred litres? We don’t care
We’ve got water everywhere

Ethiopia:

Splish, splash, splish, splash
Drilling wells for water needs cash
We need this to irrigate our farmland
Growing cash crops to consumer demand

Scotland:

Splish, splash, splish, splash
We pollute water with our trash
Fertilizers run off farmland
Choking rivers to meet consumer demand

Ethiopia:

Plip plop, plip, plop
Wrongful water use has to stop
Water conservation to meet local need
Not to satisfy overseas greed

Scotland:

Plip plop, plip, plop
This water guzzling madness has to stop
Everyone should become more aware
WATER CONSERVATION - WE HAVE TO CARE!
