Our Rights Respecting Group helps promote and embed children's rights across the school. Pupils learn about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), carry out audits to assess how well rights are understood and supported, and help raise awareness through initiatives such as our Right of the Month and Rights Respecting displays.
The group works with staff and all pupils to ensure children's rights are reflected in learning across the curriculum, making meaningful links between rights and classroom topics. We also encourage pupils to recognise how their views are heard and valued through opportunities such as voting, pupil leadership roles, and school decision-making.
Beyond the school, we help pupils understand their rights and responsibilities within the local and global community by supporting charitable initiatives, including the Rotary Shoebox Appeal and CLAN. Through this work, we aim to develop informed, respectful, and active global citizens.
